Strategic Planning

`Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?'
`That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,' said the Cat.
`I don't much care where--' said Alice.
`Then it doesn't matter which way you go,' said the Cat.

     Most everyone is familiar with the conversation between Alice and the Cheshire cat in Lewis Carroll's classic children's story, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.   The scene is when Alice comes to a crossroads and discovers the Cheshire cat perched in a tree. It’s a poignant reminder that the path we take will determine our destination.

     Whether it’s the path that we are taking for ourselves, or the one we want to lead our organization on, it really does matter where we want to go.

  • Where are you now?
  • Where do you want to go?
  • How will you determine your destination?
  • How will you get there?
  • Does it really matter?
  • What you are doing now - is it working?  How do you know?

     Whether you choose your destination in advance, or you leave it to others or to chance, you will get somewhere.  If you care where you are going we can help you get there.

     What most businesses refer to as "Strategic Planning" really has three elements: 1) Strategic Thinking, 2) Strategic Planning, and 3) Implementation.  Most organizations (and many consultants) have a handle on the first two.  Strategic Thinking is what many groups do on those "strategic planning retreats", they brainstorm about their desired future.  Strategic Planning is the actual documented plan that describes the current state, the desired future and critical success factors.  What too many organizations (and most consultants) miss is the third element, Implementation.  That is, doing what the Plan says they will do.

Focus

Think.  Plan.  Implement.  Performance Development Network provides a structure and process to accomplish all three elements.  We help you determine what you must do, how you will get it done, then do what you say you are going to do.

  • We help you do your best Thinking

  • We help you Plan your desired future;

  • AND we can help you Implement your plan to achieve your desired results.
